I decided that as much as I use lip balms I should make a lip balm that I am completely in love with! I have recently discovered Pistachio butter which is an amazingly thick rich emollient butter and decided that this would be the base of my new balms. I really LOVE this new formula. It has all the things that I love in a lip balm, a little shine, super smooth and has a little staying power.
What is in it?
Pistachio Butter is rich in phytosterols which may have anti-cancer properties! I really love pistachio butter in lip balms because it’s a nice thick emollient butter that kind of sits on the lips rather than completely soaks in.
Hemp Seed Butter is exceptionally rich in essential fatty acids that nourish the skin and helps reduce moisture loss from the skin.
Kukui Nut Oil contains Vitamin A, E and F, helps revitalize and restore the skin’s normal balance. Hawaiians have used Kukui Nut Oil to soothe burns and cuts and to protect their skin from the damage caused by sun and surf.
Kukui Nut Oil penetrates the stratum corneum and leaves a triglyceride barrier mixture of both saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. This forms a semi-permeable barrier that not only protects the skin from drying, but also allows some moisture to escape. This allows skin to heal naturally.
Olive Oil has long been loved for because it is rich in minerals, vitamins, proteins, essential fatty acids.
Vitamin E has long been considered the most important oil-soluble antioxidant and free-radical scavenger with studies indicating that Vitamin E can perform these noted functions when applied topically.
